Over the years, the measure of people that suffer with grief has grown and no one has found the genuine reason behind it and methods to help them. By creating this mobile application, step-by-step details must be provided in an intuitive site which may include helpful statistics on depressive symptoms. The outbreak of coronavirus with a significant number of verified, reported cases and the growing number of deaths created depression among the population. The ongoing movement control order and adapting to new normal has made the situation worse. People are unable to do the activities they once did just because of the new normal situation. This has made people to have unstable mental health causing depression in time. The rapid and world-wide growth of Covid-19 has caused public panic resulting in depression. The rate of depression has increased in Malaysia after the outbreak of Covid-19. To address this issue, this research paper focuses on developing a mobile application called depCare, to detect depressive symptoms among people and help them cure if the severity of depression is mild. This paper also covers the existing applications, websites and quizzed that are related to depression. Another goal of this study is to gather data and analytics about depression after the outbreak of Covid-19. In addition, this project’s goal is to develop a mobile application that provides one stop platform to detect depressive symptoms with quiz and treat mild depression. For Final Year Project 1,the author collected relevant data that will help for the application development that took place the next semester which was be Final Year Project 2. As for the methodology, Agile methodology was chosen to develop depCare.
