Recently, Malaysia government has launched The Green Building Mission as an indication of a promising effort to brings sustainability in production and delivery of the construction industry products. Since then, many initiatives have been launched to propel and facilitate efforts toward a more environmental conscious building and construction industry in the region. “Due to this, developers, owners, operators, insurers and the public at large are beginning to value and market the benefit of sustainable building.”
In line with the government’s agenda, Universiti Teknologi Petronas demonstrates the scale and long-term consideration that support sustainability. UTP also aiming to create a hub from which future development could flourish. Since the location close to the previously excavated land thereby allows the ‘city’ to grows without further expansion into dense jungle and indicates a potentially sustainable start. But how does it perform throughout these years of operations? Hence the institutional building sustainable assessment is needed to see the sustainable effort and bottom line of sustainability.
This paper highlights the implementation of sustainable buildings assessment in Universiti Teknologi Petronas building campus and also concluded the practices and all the activities that are linear for establishing the sustainable building status.
