The system able to recognize characters on number plate by using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology which implement optical character recognition (OCR) algorithm to process the characters from images. User then able to pay parking fees by using mobile phone through android application linked with user’s number plate. The benefit is it will eliminate the usage of ticket paper and magnetic card, therefore, reducing traffic congestion in front of parking entrance. Furthermore, customer parking flow has been shortened as they can pay their parking by using smartphone. Human interaction can be reduced as customer can have a handsfree process to get into the parking area; without having to roll down car’s window for access ticket. The focus of this project is to make parking process convenient for the customers and easy for owner to manage parking system. Accuracy and performance of number plate recognition is not been tested in this study as the scope is around financial technology. Verification testing has been conducted to test the system functionality. For functionality, the system only able to serve its basic function and it still need few improvements. Validation testing also conducted by having 10 drivers to test the system and answering survey question. Most of them were giving positive feedback.
